He talks about workout intensity and TSS being the most important factors, yet the TP ATP doesn't cover TSS at all, just total ride duration. TP and the Joe Friel books are, ironically, quite inconsistent themselves. I'm too inexperienced to rely on 'feel' or prior seasons' best practices. Honestly, I'm not sure what the best approach is. If I'm going to integrate TrainerRoad, how should I choose which workouts to include and which ones to cut?

I'm not sure how to best balance it with something like the TrainerRoad workout plans because the timeframes are different (TR has 2圆 weeks base periods, 8 weeks of build, and 8 weeks 'Speciality' - TP works around 2x4 week base, 8 weeks build, and 1-2 weeks 'peak' before A priority races). I also decided to set up the Annual Training Plan (ATP) because I really like how it structures the whole year. Maybe I won't use it next year, but since I'm reading some Joe Friel books, the Allen/Coggan power meter book and really like the TP blog, it gave me some fluidity to use it as my data analysis tool for the time being. I've been using TrainerRoad since early January and at first I was just casually using TrainingPeaks during the free trial, but liked it so much that I subscribed. With all the material available, it can get pretty overwhelming at times.

So it's my first season of properly committing to using an annual training plan.
